IDEX Master Selector
The Master Selector provides convenient central control of up to 200 IDEX Switches. In a classroom setting, one Master can provide an instructor or technician with a single point from which to securely control the operation of an entire room.
The Master operates by transmitting a signal by DB9 or CAT-5/6 cable in a daisy chain link between IDEX units and a Master at one end. If the Master Selector is set to drive 1,2,3 or 4 all IDEX Switches will activate the drive specified by the Master Selector regardless of where the individual IDEX Switches are set. If the Master Selector is set to “Local”, each IDEX Switch will activate the drive specified by its own selector switch. In this way an instructor can control which drive is used by his/her class and can optionally give control to the students.
Each IDEX unit to be controlled by the Master must have a DB9 Jumper cable or an RJ45 Jumper cable installed. These cables provide the necessary connections on the back of the computer for a daisy chain link.
